Name: Travis Cripps
Age: ahem...
About 140 hrs. of college coursework at Brigham Young University. It's a shame that it happens to be in all the wrong places to add up to a degree :(. Well, maybe someday... I'm just about finished with my C.S. classes at DeAnza College. :)
Computers
Computers should enhance the quality of life, not detract from it. And we should be the masters of our computers, not vice-versa. That's why Travis' platform of choice is the Macintosh.
Macintosh
Travis' love affair with Apple computers began when he was a wee lad. His first real experience with computers was with the Apple II "way back when..." But the true Zen moment in his computing life was when his father brought home a 512K Macintosh in early 1985. What an epiphany! Now that relationship continues with MacOS X.
Windows
Travis simply cannot understand what possesses people to use this obtuse operating system by choice. He can do it if he has to, but bleh!
Music
Music possesses the power to stir the soul more deeply than just about anything in this world. That may just explain Travis' devotion.
Audiophile speaker design
That brings us to Travis' most expensive hobby. Thanks to a fortuitous meeting with a genius in audio design, Travis can no longer be satisfied listening to just any sound system... So he has taken to designing his own speakers in search of musical paradise. The only problem is that expense thing; it sort of limits the pace of his "research."
Favorite Movie
About any animated Disney movie will do. Failing that, how about a James Bond or a Jackie Chan flick?
Gourmet cooking
Long ago, Travis decided that if he had to cook for himself, he would learn how to cook well. So, with the help of a little stay in Italy, he is now at least pretty decent in the kitchen, and improving. The funny thing is that he still enjoys Pop Tarts and breakfast cereal in the morning. Go figure.
Water-skiing
After everything else on the list, there's not much time left over, but Travis has never been one to pass up a water-skiing trip. Growing up just a few minutes from beautiful Lake Powell, in Page, AZ, he had the opportunity to exercise this particular talent more than most. Moving away has left him a little rusty, but Travis still enjoys a good slalom run.
Trekkie
What was that? Oh. The correct term is "Trekker." That's when you enjoy Star Trek, but not enough to wear your uniform in public. Thankfully, though, Travis is on the lower end of the spectrum; he doesn't even own a uniform. (Whew...!)
Women
Travis is terminally stupid when it comes to women. If you want detail more than that, you'll have to drag it out of him.
